RunningLate.app is an SMS-based notification tool that allows employees to alert their employer when they are running late to work. The following describes how end users explicitly consent to receive SMS text messages from RunningLate.app.
When an employee texts the RunningLate.app number for the first time, they receive the following automated response:
"Welcome to RunningLate.app. By replying YES, you agree to receive SMS text messages from RunningLate.app to notify your employer when you are running late. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for assistance."
The employee must reply YES to activate the service. Their reply of YES is recorded as their explicit consent to receive SMS text messages from RunningLate.app.
All messages are transactional and conversational — limited to 1–3 messages per interaction. Messages notify the employee's manager of their estimated arrival time. No marketing messages are sent.
Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Opt-outs are honored immediately and no further messages are sent. Users may reply HELP at any time for assistance.
